ENTERTAINMENTS.

■ 4* CROWN OF LIES AT CABARET,

Pola Negri heads a capable east which included Noah Beary, in “The Crown of Lies,” heading the line programme to be screened at tomorrow evening’s Town Hall cabaret. The story tells of an immigrant girl who bears an extraordinary likeness to the missing queen of a small European country. Taken up by a small group of patriots, she poses as the lost queen and in a short exciting and at times humorous reign prosperity is restored. A comedy, “West is West,” screen snapshots and a variety film complete the list. Cabaret prices. “Stella Dallas,” an eleven reel special drama described as the story of a girl of whom there is one in every community comes to the Town Hall on Friday next. Described as greater and sweeter than “Over the Hill,” yet as tragic as “Madame X.” Stella Dallas should come as a welcome change from thrill dramas and comedies. The big cast includes Ronald Colrnan, Alice Joyce, Belle Bennett, and Douglas Fairbanks jnr. Watch Thursday’s issue for further particulars. - ROYAL PICTURES. William Fairbanks motto is “Go and get it.” How well lie has succeeded is shown in “Hearts of the West,” to be screened at the Royal Theatre to-morrow evening. The picture is full of punch, thrilling action and romance, it will entertain you, and you will long remember the sensational, death-defying stunts pulled off in this wonderful picture. A comedy entitled “Alother’s Joy” will also be screened. Prices: Stalls 9d, circle 1/-, children 3d and 6d. On Friday night one of the most virile and fascinating stories ever written by Rex Beach, entitled “Winds of Chance,” will be screened. It is a mighty epic of one of America’s most stirring periods, the gold rush to the Klondike. It is the story of one man who faced the Klondike alone, without friends, or money, and tells how he won the hard fight for the thing he came to seek in that country, and the love that he found.
