FEILDING FREEZING WORKS.

VOLUNTEERS RETAINED. Feilding, December 21. When trouble loomed recently in the freezing industry the local Farmers’ Union organised voluntary labour for the freezing works, and the directors of the freezing company gave an assurance that any volunteers taking work would be retained so long as they liked to stay. When unionists workers offered their services some were engaged, but the volunteers were kept going, and at the present time there are 38 volunteers employed at the Feilding freezing works in addition to some unionists. The Fanners’ Union to-day commended the action of the freezing company in thus sticking to the volunteers.
