ARTILLERY CAMPS

TO BE HELD ON RACECOURSE NEXT YEAR. Captain Fair, Defence Wellington, was in Foxton to-day making arrangements for the holding of artillery camps on the racecourse at the beginning of next year. The Racing Club have granted the Defence Department the use of the racecourse and the first camp will he that,of the -19th Battery, Wellington, on the 29th January 1927. Following that, the following Batteries will come in at weekly intervals: —17th Battery, Wellington; oth Napier, Bth Palmerston North, 7th Palmerston North, and sth Wellington. About 200 men will be in each battery.
