THE LATE MR. G. C. COLEY.
The funeral of the late Air. (!. C. Coley took place on Saturday afternoon and was attended by a large and representative number of people from all parts of the district. The numerous beautiful floral wreaths bore a silent tribute of respect to the memory of our late citizen. The casket was taken to All Saints' Church where a short service was held by the vicar, Rev. W. IT. Wallon, who made reference to the life of the late Mr. Coley. One outstanding feature of bis life was that be was always a friend of the children. He had been called from further suffering by a just and merciful God. At the conclusion of the service the organist (Airs Jackson), played the “Dead~Alarc.li.” The interment took place at the local cemetery. The pall bearers were as follows: —Messrs M. E. Pcrreau (Mayor), W. Trueman (Town Clerk), J. K. Hornblow (School Committee), M, B. Bergin, and R. Bryant (Racing Club), and R. Rangilieuoa (Fire Board). Among the lloral tributes forwarded' were handsome wreaths from the Borough Council, Foxton Racing Club, School Committee, Fire Board and officers and men of the Volunteer Fire Brigade.
