PLUNKET SOCIETY.
The monthly meeting of the Plunkcl Society Commit tee was held yesterday afternoon, those present being Mesdames F. Robinson (president), W. 11. Walton, C. A. Pearson, W. Trueman, D. Christie, D. R. Barron, R. Kangiheuea, F. Procter, A. Stevenson and K. MeMurray (lion, secretary). Apologies for absence were received from Mesdames A. Ross, J. M. Barr and A. Baker. The nurse’s monthly report showed visits to Foxton to homes 12, adults to office 58, and children 85, a total of 1-13. There was one new case. Correspondence was received from the Palmerston North branch, enclosing particulars in connection with the proposed Lady Truby King fellowship at the Otago ’Varsity Medical School. It was unanimously agreed to support the forward move in research work for the benefit of child welfare and to donate the sum of £5. The Central Council, Dunedin, wrote, advising that one case of emulsion had been forwarded to Foxton. It was resolved that the next meeting be held on the second Monday in February. Accounts totalling £7 18s were passed for payment. Mesdames MeMurray and Trueman were appointed (lower stewards and Mesdames Barron and Trueman visitors. Proceeds of Mr I. Corn’s weighing machine were 8/5, and those of the contribution box 4/3. At the conclusion of the meeting the President wished the members the compliments of the season, and a vote of thanks to the. chair concluded the meeting.
