OBITUARY.
GERTRUDE FRANCES CHALK, AGED 51 YEARS. The death Secured in the Palmerston N. Hospital early on Thursday morning, of Gertrude Francis Chalk, wife of Mr Henry G. Chalk, of Hillary St., Foxton, after an illness extending over several weeks. The late Mrs Chalk was a daughter of Mr William Mendha, a warehouse manager, Bow, London and was horn in 1875. Mrs Chalk was married at Leytonshire, Essex, England in 1899 and came out to New Zealand with her husband in 1908 when they took up their residence in the Foxton district, where Mr Chalk was engaged in farming pursuits and later removed) into Foxton. During her many years residence in Foxton Mrs Chalk was an active church worker and was connected with the local Methodist Church and Salvation Army. A husband and son are left to mourn the lors of a loving wife and devoted mother.
Airs F. Chalk is a sister of deceased. The funeral will leave her bite icsidence for tlie Foxton cemetery at 2 p.m. to-morrow, after a short service at the house at 1.45 p.m.
