FOXTON DISTRICT HIGH SCHOOL
HEADMASTER’S REPORT. The headmaster (Mr F. A. Mason) reported as follows at Monday’s meeting of the Foxton District High School Committee: — “The rolls and average attendance of all departments of the school are well maintained. The annual examinations were now almost complete and indicate that good allround progress has been made. “Mr ,J. J. Adams, Inspector of Schools, visited the school on November 25th, for the purpose of conducting the Standard VI. Proficiency examination. As a result 91 per cent, of Proficiency Certificates are to 'be awarded this year. For outside examinations pupils from the Secondary Department are sitting as follows: — “Junior National Scholarship 5; Public Service Entrance 1, Intermediate Examination 1, Matriculation 2. “Fivo pupils from the Senior secondary classes gained Senior Free Places. “Preparations are now being made for the annual school concert. On Friday, 17th inst., the day on which the school breaks up, the distribution of certificates and prizes will take place at the school and Father Christmas will be in attendance with a well-laden ’Xmas tree for the children of the Infant Department. “A concert and prize-giving will also be held in connection with the Side School at the Beach. “Names of all children who succeeded in gaining promotion will be published next week.”
