ROYAL PICTURES. The inspiring sight of four destroyers tearing through the waves at a. terrific rate, leaving in tlieir wake a foaming, swirling rush of water, is to he seen in the screen version of “The Midshipman,” a Metro-Goldwvn Mayer picture to be screened at the Royal Theatre tomorrow night. The boats are to tire rescue of a beautiful girl who has boon abducted on a fast yacht. This is only one of the many thrills that go to make a stirring melodrama of the sea. Extra: “Tire Fighting Ranger.” ‘ House Peters is starred in “Combat,” to lie screened on Saturday night. A story of red-blooded lumb-er-,-jacks. Wanda Hawley has the leading feminine role.

ZANE GREY STORY AT TOWN HALL. .Jack Holt and Lois Wilson play tire lead in “The Thundering Herd,” the latest Zane Grey picture to he screened at the Town Hall on Friday. This picture is a spectacle of the romantic days of red men and buffalo, white hunters and plains dotted with bleaching hones. Yet the tale is told in intimate manner and against the background of painted savages and stampeding buffalo is depicted a love story together with the personal adventures of a little hand typical of the illassorted crew that roved the prairies a generation ago. On Saturday night Tom Mix appears in “My Own Pal,” the star picture in a special week-end programme.
