HIGH COMMISSIONER’S REPORT. The High Commissioner’s cable, dated the 27th,inst., reads:—Manila. ninrket continues firm for near positions; forward shipments are easier, but the close was steady. J grade, November-January shipments, quoted buyers at £47. The Sisal market is steady; Tanganyika No. 1, November-January shipments, £43 10/-, value. New Zealand market is steady and demand is good, but more buyers than sellers; for fair, November-January shipments sold at £35 10/- to £36 5/- and high points were quoted at £3B.
