CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

MONTHLY MEETING. The usual monthly meeting of the Eoxton Chamber of Commerce was held in Ross’s Rooms on Thursday night, presided _ over by the Presi dent (Mr J. K. Hornblow). Also present were Messrs M. E. Perrenu, I. Corn, R. Rangiheuea, 11. Ilornblpw, R. Me Murray, A. Yeo, A. Alsop, I'. Woods, C. Pearson, IV. E. Barber, F. Rnikes, D. R. Barron and the secretary (Mr R. Hornblow). Messrs Stanley and Pringle, Railway Business Agents, were also present. An invitation was received from the Shannon Chamber for members to be present at a ladies’ evening, to be held next Thursday evening in the Parish Hall, Shannon, and asking that the local Chamber elect members to speak on some subject of interest. —It was decided that Mr J. Linklater, ALP., and Mr. M. B. Bergin represent the Chamber, the transport arrangements, etc., for conveyance of members and lady friends being left in the hands of Mr Barron. A, hearty vote of thanks was accorded Mr A. Seifert for his in teresting address on the flax industry. All general business and correspondence of minor importance was •held over and Mr Stanley then addressed the meeting on the Railway Department’s poliey in regard to vehicular traffic. i
