HOROWHENUA POWER BOARD.
TREA SURER’S STATEAIENT. At last meeting of the Ilorowhenua Power Board, the treasurer’s statement was presented as follows : The pay roll for the day includes £1,350 10/5 for the second debenture payable in respect to the second loan of £40,000 from the Government Life Insurance Department. This is due on the 30th inst. Other than this payment the list has only one other account which runs into more than two figures, viz. that for ranges, £157. The total to he passed (including the debenture and range account referred to) stands at £2,045 14/2. Accounts to be confirmed paid since the last meeting of the Board amount to £Bll 7/7. The principal items "are wages £4lB, salaries £247, and railway freight on 246 poles, £lll. Since (he last meeting of the Board, the following amounts have been collected: —Electricity and meter rents £3,408 18/11; penalties £l2 16/5, interest on installation £B3 14/-, ranges, water-heaters and motors £23!) 13/-, installations and service lines £383 15/10, cottage rents £27 2/9; total £4,210 0/11. Most of the largest September quarterly accounts for electricity both Lor private consumers and also for street lighting were paid since last meeting, hence the returns for electricity and meter rents for the month amount to flic respectable sum of £3,468. Considering the general shortage of money the returns are very fair indeed. The total amount collected for the present financial year from all sources is over £30,000.
