While mustering a dairy herd for the evening milking, Magdalene Ponton Colville, the 11-year-old daughter of Mrs Mary Saddler, of Te Ore Ore, fell with her horse, which had a seizure. The girl was picked up unconscious and expired a few minutes later. Her skull was fractured.
