FOR LONG DISTANCE RINGS. Wellington, Yesterday. Commencing on Friday, the sth inst.j a reduction in the charges for long-distance toll communications will take effect, and the half-rate concession will commence at 8 p.m. instead of 9 p.m. No alteration is made in (he charge for call over distances not exceeding 150 miles. For calls over distances exceeding 150 miles, the charge will be the same as at present! up to 150 miles, and for every additional ten miles, the charge will be one penny between eight a.m. and 8 p_.m. and one half-penny between eight p.m. and eight a.m.
