Mrs Jack entertained members and friends of the Presbyterian Ladies’ Social Guild on Wednesday afternoon. There was a good attendance and a most enjoyable time was spent. It was decided that the next Guild take the form of a garden party early in December. At next meeting of the Wanganui Education Board, a motion will be moved that “all male teachers in the Board’s service on reaching the age of 05 years, and all female teachers on reaching the age of 55 years, he given three 'months’ notice of the termination of their respective engagements with the Board.”
To-morrow is known as World's Temperance Sunday. At the local Methodist Church Mr G. Huntley wilt'preach in the morning and Rev. S. Peryman in the evening. Mrs Lionel Bullard will contribute a solo at the latter service and the address will be on “Belsharzzar’s Feast.”
