GERMAN BARQUE IN AUCKLAND.
Auckland, Last Night. The four-masted barque Gustav, the second German vessel to visit Auckland since the war, arrived from Maiden Island to-night. The Gustav, which has a crew of 29, twenty of them Germans, has been in Australian and Pacific waters for about a year. She was to have loaded 4,00(ji tons of guano at Maiden Island, but for some reason could obtain only 2,500 tons owing to a discrepancy in the quantity of cargo. The barque will not berth until the matter of payment for cargo not shipped has been settled. The Gustav was formerly a, British ship but has been German since 1910. She was interned in a port on the west coast of South America during the war.
