For what the Bench described as gross cruelty to a stray dog three youths at Wrangle, England, were lined £2 each and costs by the county magistrates. They admitted taking the dog into a garden, fastening its jaws with a horse twitch, pricking its hindquarters and injecting turpentine. They said it was done “for fun.” The dog became mad arid had to be destroyed.
