FAMILY TROUBLES.
■ ♦ PREYED ON WOMAN’S MIND. Auckland. October 28. An inonest concerning the death of Airs M. Armstrong, who was found drowned in the Mamikon Harbour, was held to-day. Miss \. A. Hooper said she employed- deceased as lady help for six weeks and the last she saw of her was on Sunday afternoon, when she was singing hymns. She was in a bad state of health and suffered from insomnia, while family troubles preyed on her mind. She had said that her husband was in England and she wished she was dead. She often talked with spirits and sometimes appeared to be conversing with her dead daughter. When deceased left her last Sunday, she understood she was going to visit a friend at Onehunga.
The Coroner returned a verdict of suicide bv drowning, while in a depressed state of mind.
