PRESENTATION.

A very pleasant function was held on Tuesday at the Secondary Department of the local District High School, when Mr Burdes was made the recipient of a presentation on the occasion of his recent marriage. Mr Burdes was handed a set of Pyrex war,e ns a small token of the esteem in which he is held by his pupils. Rex Ball, in making the presentation, emphasised the kindly relations that have always existed between Mr Burdes and his pupils. Edward Murphy, in a neat speech, offered congratulations and good wishes on behalf of the juniors. The gathering closed with hearty cheers for Mi* and Mrs Burdes.

Mi 1 Burdes feelingly and suitably responded.
