SWIMMING BATHS.CARNIVAL.
The public are reminded of the grand concert to be held in the Royal Theatre this evening, under the auspices of the Citizens’ Queen committee. The programme has been specially organised, talent having been obtained from Palmerston N. for the occasion, the prices of admission are very moderate.
The weekly dancing class, under the auspices of the Fibre Committee, will be held in All Saints’ schoolroom to-morrow evening.
A euchre party was held in Hamer’s sample room on Tuesday evening for (he Fibre Queen candidate, a large number being present. Prizes were won by Mesdames J. Broad and Smith, and Messrs G. Mounsey and T. Fuller.
A euchre party was held in Grady’s rooms on Wednesday for the Sports Queen candidate. Prizes were won by Mesdames McKnight and Williams, and Messrs Edwards a lid Williams.
At the dance to be given by the Ladies’ Hockey Club on Saturday night for the Sports Queen, opportunity will be taken to present the Beverley Rose Bowl.
