ROAD CYCLE RACE.

The ten mile road cycle race held yesterday evening by the Foxton Amateur Cycling Club resulted as follows: 1

E. Coley (54min) 1, A. Sharpe (Gmin) 2, J. Smith (65sec), 3. The course was eight times round the Johnston St. block, a distance of ten miles in all. The race was the limit men’s. Smith just clipped Knott; out of third place.

At its meeting on Tuesday, the Palmerston N. A., and P. Association considered a request from the Foxton Amateur Cycling Club that a cycle road race from Foxton to the showgrounds finish at the show grounds on the Wednesday of Show week. • -

On the recommendation of the Finance’Committee it was decided to inform the club that a race finishing on the showgrounds .was inconvenient. i
