FOXTON HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY.

A committee meeting of the above Society was held in Ross’s Rooms last week, presided over by Mr D. Christie, President. There was a good attendance of members present.

The President reported that he had inspected the temporary Town Hall with 1 a view to holding the November show there should the new Town' Hall not be completed in time. The usual scheduled classes could be accommodated) nicely. The fancy work section had been deleted from the schedule owing to lack of interest.

It was decided to order 12 dozen tin vases for roses.

The following judges were appointed : Roses and sweet peas: Mr F. Mason, Feilding; cut blooms, pot plants and vegetables: Mr A. J. Shailer, Palmerston N.; cookery: Mr A. Wlhitehead, Palmerston N.; decorative 4 Mrs Clark, Levin. The date for the summer show will be decided on next week. It was decided to hold a cake, sweets and soft drinks stall and to hold a cake competition in connection with the stall at the next show. A musical programme for the evening* will also be arranged.
