(To The Editor)

Sir, —I noticed in the report of the local Chamber of Commerce meeting that the Shannon Chamber are agitating for the erection -of the span of the bridge to replace that washed away so that the bridge cail again be used instead of the punt as a means of communication between the Fox! on (district and Shannon. Sir, I do not think the Foxton business people should be asked to boost the crossing to their own detriment. I ask you, sir, who are the biggest howlers for the bridge. Tf you don’t know, I’ll tell you: The men who send their butter fat out of the district to Shannon in preference to helping Foxton by erecting a butter factory here. Who else does the bridge benefit? Why should Foxton be asked/ to build up the prosperity of Shannon and a section who do all their business out of Foxton. Nuff sed.—Yours ete.i FOXTON FIRST.
