ALLEGED THEFT.

CHARGE DISMISSED.

A Maori youth, 18 years of age, whose name was ordered to be suppressed, appeared at the Palmerston North Police Court yesterday, charged that on or about September 25, at Motuiti, he did steal sundry articles of clothing and personal effects of a total value of £3 2/6, the property of James Rossiter, of Motuiti. Sergeant Power stated that he would not call evidence owing to the owner of the missing property having been unable to identify that found in accused’s possession as being his. The Bench, under the circumstances, discharged aocused and made an order, for the suppression of his name.
