To-morrow afternoon the official opening of the local croquet court will take place in conjunction with that of the howling green. The President of the Bowling Club, following time-honoured custom,) will present the Irophies to the winners of last season’s competitions (five in all) immediately after declaring.ihe court open for play.
The secretary of the Foxton Club (Airs Owen) has received invitations on behalf of local players to lie present at the official opening of the following Club courts: — Manawaiu Croquet Club, Saturday, 9th inst.
St. John’s (Feilding), Saturday, 9th inst.
Terrace End Croquet Club, Saturday, 16th inst. Bulls Club, Wednesday, 20th inst tea, Airs Barron; shirt, Mr McMur-
