BOWLING

The secretary of the local bowling dub has received invitations from Northern and Feilding Bowling Clubs for Fox ton to be represented at the official opening of their greens, both of which take place on Saturday of this week.

Tlie official opening- of Shannon green took, place yesterday afternoon, in good weather. Visiting bowlers were present from various clubs’ throughout the Centre, and a really enjoyable time was spent. Two rinks from Fox ton made the trip, and registered one win and one loss in the resultant games played. Thomson played Radford, and* won by a margin of one point, the scores being Thomson 22 Radford 21; Woods played Cunningham, but lost by a good margin, the scores being 27- —9. Next Wednesday the official opening of Foxton green will take place at 2 p.m.
