BAND OF HOPE.

The monthly meeting of the United Band of Hope was held in the Presbyterian Sunday Schoolroom on Friday evening, Mrs J. Ross presiding. The Temperance Hymn was sung, after which Mrs Capt. Stone ‘led in prayer. A most interesting address was given by Mrs Perymnn, to which the children listened very attentively. Thirty girls and twelve boys brought back their pledge cards signed up. The following children contributed to the programme:—Kathleen Leech, recitation and song; Horace and Phyllis Tongs, duet; Joan Cowley, recitation; Susie Thompson, song; Belle Marshall, recitation; Blanche and Susie Thompson, duet; Keith Powell, recitation; Maud and Madge King, Ula Thomson and Myrtle Gay dialogue; Mollie Downes, recitation; Joyce Rimmcr, recitation.

The- meeting closed with the temperance Doxology and Mrs Peryman pronounced the Benediction.

Band of Hope meetings are held on the last Friday of each month and children and parents of all denominations are cordially invited to attend.
