LEVIN TENNIS CLUB.
The annual general meeting of the Levin Tennis Club took place in Levin on Tuesday evening, Dr Thompson (Club President) presiding over a good attendance of members.
The annual report stated that the membership had increased from 33 to HO. A new court had been laid down at a cost of £l5O 17/6. The results of inter-elub games played during the past season were: Otnki, played two, won two; Foxton, played two, won one, lost one; Manakau, played two, won one, lost one.
The following officers were elected: —President: Dr. Thompson (reelected); vice-president: Mr L. B. Dawson; secretary, Mr K. Biss; treasurer: Mr P. IT. Harper; committee: Misses M. Bevan, E. Best, Mrs Hinde and Messrs S. Bevan, L. IT. Arcus, and G. Evans; auditor: Mi 1 F. Nicholson; club captain: Mr P. 11. Harper. . The financial statement showed 1 a debit balance of £lOl 0/1, for which the construction of the new courts was largely responsible. It was decided that the opening dav be Saturday, October 16th.
The following officers weer elected at the annual meeting of the Shannon Tennis Club: —President: Mr E. T. Moody; vice-presidents: ■Messrs Hook and Bovis; secretary and treasurer: Mr G. Mitchell; auditor, Mr .J. W. 'Murray; committee: Mesdames Moynihan, Morgan, Merwood and Bovis; Messrs \\ aid on, and F. Murray; selection committee: Mrs Bovis, Miss G. Jones and Mr Waldon. Teh l new members were elected. The season is to be opened on October 6th.
