ACCIDENTAL POISONING.

OF HOSPITAL PATIENT.

Timaru, Last Night,

Patrick McCann, a labourer, aged 43, was sent to Timaru hospital on Monday last to he treated, but died on Tuesday morning.

At the inquest to-night, a verdict was returned that death was due to collapse and heart failure, caused by bis having been accidentally poisoned while in the hospital. Deceased was ordered a barium meal, and had been given a meal with two ounces of barium carbonate instead of barium sulphate.
