CYCLING.

TEN MILE ROAD RACE WON BY

CUNNINGHAM,

The Foxton Amateur Cycling Club arc evidently out to popularise cycle racing this summer. The committee propose holding weekly road races for a points prize and the first of this series was held last evening, when a ten miles road race was staged. Ten competitors faced the starter and a sterling contest resulted. The event was won by E. Cunningham, but as he is not a club member, the placings had to be K. Martin Ist, D. Satherley 2, Phil Honour 3 and J. Gupwell 4. Martin rode a great race and won off scratch.

Martin will be thg centre of local interest in the Palmerston N. to Wellington road race on Saturday. He is the only local rider who has accepted nomination.
