DAIRY CONTROL BOARD.
Mr JJ R. Corigan, of Hawera, defeated Mr Iv. W. Dalrymple, of Bulls, the sitting member, for a seat on the Dairy Control Board, for No. 5 Ward, at yesterday’s election. Details of the voting are as follow - Corrigan, 350£ Dalrymple 253 The result of the election is determined by tonnage votes allotted to each company, in accordance with the quantity of butter and cheese, the manufacture of that company, at a factory or factories within the ward, that has been exporting during the preceding period of twelve months, commencing on the first day of 1 April. The candidate who receives the greatest number of valid voles from the suppliers to the factory or factories of any company shall be entitled to receive all the tonnage votes allotted to that company. If two or more candidates receive an equal number of suppliers’ votes the tonnage votes, if necessary, shall lie divided among them. If two or more candidates receive an equal number of tonnage votes the candidate shall be deemed to be elected who has received the greatest number of suppliers’ votes.
