THEFTS BY TOWN CLERK.

Greymouth, Sept. 17,

The Supreme Court sittings opened this morning. There are no criminal cases for trial. Patrick Joseph Creagh, ex-town clerk of Brunner Borough, came up for sentence on a charge of stealing £346, the property of his employers. Mr Justice Adams declined to grant probation, as the report was that the prisoner was too lazy to work. He was sentenced to two years’ reformative detention.
