FLOOD CONTROL

COMMISSION TO RESUME ITS

SITTING.

The commission appointed by the Government to inquire into the £450,00(1 scheme of flood protection proposed by the Manawatu-Oroua River Board will resume its sitting at the Palmerston N. courthouse on Monday. In the interim the members of the commission have been engaged in making an aerial survey of the Manawatu and an inspection of areas brought under their notice.

Upon the commission resuming, counsel 1 for the various local bodies cited will call evidence in support of their contentions against the scheme, while others interestel will also give their depositions. As there will be a large number of witnesses, it is anticipated that the commission will be engaged for some appreciable time,
