FOXTON TENNIS CLUB.
ANNUAL MEETING.
The annual meeting of the Foxton Tennis Club was held in the Racing Club offijee on Thursday evening, presided over by the President (Mr C. Simmons). There was a large| attendance of members present. The annual report (previously published) was read and adopted. The matter of fixing the fees for visiting, country, and associated members was left to the incoming committee. ELECTION OF OFFICERS. Tlie election of officers for the ensuing year resulted as follows: Patron: Mr. F. Robinson. President : Mr. R. McMurray. Vice-pre-sidents: Messrs J. Linklatcr, M.P., F. €.. Hay, W. E. Barber, A. Ross, C. Simmons, M. E. Perreau, S. 11. Poole, F Woods, T. Betty, W. Kirkland, P. Easton, E. .T. Jackson, F. Mason, A. Fraser, G. Fraser, J. Iv. Hornblow, R. Rangiheuea,.T. Chrvstnll, S. Austin, M. B. Bergin, and R. Owen, the Revs. Walton and Pervman, and Dr. Wyllie; hon secretary, Mr. C. Proctor; hon. treasurer, Mr. N. Ross; lion, auditor, Mr. W. Trueman; committee; Mesdames Hav and McMurray, Misses R. Barber, M. Stevenson, and R. Perreau, Messrs W. Ross, L. C. Bryant, W. Roach and Warwick; match committee: Messrs N. Ross, L. C. Bryant, and 1L McMurray. NEW MEMBERS.
The following new members were enrolled: Misses'-L. Thompson, J. Leslie, N. Williams, K. Boore and Messrs J. Christie and G. Woods. Honorary members: Mr and Mrs A. Stevenson and Mrs F. Woods. The president (Mr MeMurray) on accepting the office, urged members to take a keen interest in the Club’s affairs, and said if they did there was no reason why tho( Club should not have a most successful year. He asked them to each bring along two new members,, for now that the Club had taken over the new courts an increase in the membership could be allowed. Regarding the new courts, he earnestly asked that the members make a concerted effort to have the preparation done within a month or six weeks. This could only be done by all the members taking a hand instead of leaving the work to a few to do. Votes of thanks were accorded the Racing Club for use of room, and the secretary, treasurer and auditor for services during the past year.
