GAS WORKS.

JULY WORKING. The amount of gas manufactured during the month of July was 389,800 ft., which with the amount in the holder on July Ist 14,000 ft. made a total of 403,800 ft. During . the month 342,300 ft. were used by eon- . sumers, 22,00 ft at the works and there was 14,400 ft. in thef’holder on v August 1 1st, making a total of 378,-

700 ft. and leaving 25,100 ft. representing 6.2 per cent, unaccounted for. Thirty-six tons of coal was carbojiised, yielding 10,827 c.ft. of gas to the ton and producing 9 tons of coke.

The receipts for ‘the month totalled £225 3s 6d and were made up; as follows: —Gas sales (lighting) £4B 6s lOd, heat and power £ll9 10s sd, coke sales £l7 17s 2d, tar gales £23 2s, fittings £ll 15s Bd, miscellaneous £4 11s sd.

The expenditure for the month totalled £233 9s 5d and were made up as follows:—Coal £lOl 2s, salaries and wages £45, services and fittings £8 7s lOd, tools 16s 6d, engine repairs and oil 9s Bd, general repairs £1 13s, meters £l2 3s 6d, cartage and freight 6s 9d, working expenses ss, Power Board £2, sundries £1 13s 6d, Interest and Sinking Fund £59 11s Bd. -
