SWIMMING BATHS CARNIVAL.
A euchre party will be held in Perrean’s Rooms to-morrow evening at 8 oVlock. Good prizes, good supper. This euchre party was originally arranged by the Farmers’ Committee, but since the withdrawal of "Miss Easton from the contest, Mcsdames Pearson and Perrenu have consented to conduct the evening, and the takings will be devoted to the Carnival general fund. The Sports Committee will hold a Shop Day on Saturday. Home-made takes and sweets on sale. The Sports Committee announce that owing to the Rugby Union holding a match at Foxton on Saturday, they are compelled to postpone their proposed match, married v. single men.
A “Back to Childhood” dance ha: been arranged by the Sports Com mittec lo take place in the Masonh Hull on Saturday night.
A euchre party was held on Tuesday for the Fibre Queen candidate. There was a large attendance. The first prizes were won by Airs McCarthy and Air Edwards, the second prizes going to Airs Broad and AH Spring respectively. A pleasing afternoon was spent in the Blanket room yesterday for the Citizens’ Queen candidate. Cards and competitions were indulged in. Good business was done bv selling cakes and lollies. A euchre party was held last evening for the Sp.orts Queen candidate, a large number being present, The first prizes were won by Airs Griffin and Air Edwards; “boobies” by Mrs Downes and Air D. AToMurrny respectively.
