FOXTON CHORAL SOCIETY.
PRESENTATIONS TO CONDUCTOR. AND ACCOMPANIST.
At the Choral Society's social on Monday evening last, presentations were made to Miss Mary Delanv and Mr Harold Osborne, pianistc conductor respectively, of the Society. In asking Miss Delany’s acceptance of a hand mirror, Rev. S. Peryman spoke of Miss Delany’s devotion to the Society’s interests and of the hard work that she had put in as accompanist. Mr L. Bullard replied on Miss Delany’s behalf, thanking the members of the Society for their tangible token of goodwill, and stating that what Miss Delany had done she had done gladly on the Society’s behalf. Rev. W. 11. Wjilton, in handing to Mr Osborne a Waterman fountain pen, spoke of the many ways in which Mr Osborne had helped in matters musical in Foxton. The speaker trusted that history would repeat itself and that as of yore the society would spring into new life.
In acknowledging the presentation, Mr Osborne said that there was enough talent in Foxton to run a good choral society and if members would only attend regularly, there would be no difficulty. As befitted the occasion, the presentations were followed by musical honours.
During the evening songs were rendered by the Misses F. Chalk, and G. Hoffman, and Mrs L. Bullard, Miss B. Peryman playing the accompaniments. At the close of the programme a bountiful supper was provided by the ladies.
Apologies for non-attendance were received from Mr J. Chrystall (President), Mr and Mrs W. E. Bullard and others. »
