FOXTON CRICKET CLUB

The meeting convened last night to resuscitate the Foxton Cricket Club was largely attended. Mr B. Hinds was voted to the chair and briefly outlined the object of the meeting. Mr Tongs said that the number of prospective players was sufficient to warrant two teams —a Wednesday, and a Saturday team. It was unanimously decided to resuscitate the old Foxton Cricket Club. ELECTION OF OFFICERS. The election of officers resulted as follows: — Patron: Mr .1. Linklater, ALP.; President: Mr A. E. Tongs; vicepresidents: Messrs W. E.. Billiard, E. Huntley, W. Nye snr., J. Chrystall, and M. E. Pcrreau; secretary: Mr B. Newth; treasurer: Mr B. Hinds; committee: Messrs B. Taylor, W. Howe, and H. Ross; Club Captain: Mr H. Taylor. Easton Park was selected as a playing area, subject to the Council’s consent. It was decided that the subscription be 7/0 for senior and 5/- for junior members (18 and under). Mr A. E. Tongs was accorded a hearty vote of thanks for the offer of a cricket bat to the Club. It was decided to affiliate with the Ilorowhenua Association. Mr Tongs was appointed delegate to the Union. Business of minor importance was subsequently discussed and the meeting terminated with the usual vote of thanks to the chair.
