FLOOD REPORTS.
The Postal Department has acceded to the request of the Mana-Avatu-Orpua River Board to supply information concerning the depth of the Manawatu River at Fitzhcrbert bridge when the condition of the river is abnormal. The reading of the guage at the Fitzherbert bridge will lie telephoned to the Palmertion passed on to the postmaster at Foxton, Shannon, Tokomaru, Rangiotu and Koputaroa, AA’ho will lake steps to see that the information is made available to settlers.
