NEW COURTHOUSE.

For some time past the Foxton Chamber of Commerce has been agitating for a new Courthouse. Last month both the Minister for Justice and the member for the district (Mr J. Linklater, M.P.) were written to in connection with the matter "and at Thursday night’s meeting of the Chamber a reply was received from the Minister of Justice, stating that the request has been noted and will be dealt with according to its merits. The President, however, was able to report that Mr Linklater bad informed him that the Minister of Justice had promised to visit Foxton and inspect the building during the recess.

It was decided to communicate further with the Minister.
