MANAWATU HERD TESTING ASSOCIATION.
FORMATION OF NO. 4 GROUP. A meeting of the No. 4 Group of (lie above was held in Perreau’s Rooms on Saturday evening, presided over by Mr W. E. Barber. There were also present: Messrs Spring, Treggell, R. J. Thompson, W. Ross, Wilson and F. Woods (secretary) and Mr Fergusson (organiser and secretary). The organiser explained the rules and mode of forming groups. He said that as there were over 2,000 cows in the Foxton-Moutoa area, two testing officers would be required. It was decided to form a Moutoa group, No. 4, and the following committee was set up: Messrs Fursdon, Treggell, W. Ross, Bo we, C. Spring, and Stan. Barber; secretary: Mr W. Ross junr. Mr Richmond was appointed testing officer for this group. It was decided to hold over the formation of the, Foxton group. Votes of thanks were accorded Messrs W. E. Barber (chairman), and F. Woods (secretary) for past services. BALANCE-SHEET. The group balance-sheet for the past year was then presented and adopted. Receipts totalled £251 14s. The expenditure was as follows: Wages £165 12/-, advertising 18/3, hall hire, etc. £1 4/2, stamps, etc. £2 .10/3, bank charges £1 8/7, stationery £5 8/5, acids, alcohol and glassware £2O 0/5, insurance £3 8/8, equipment, tester, etc., £23 0/6, outstanding £1 8/-, audit fee 10/-, secretary’s bonus £l2 10/-, cash in hand £l2 17/3, total £251 14/-. Votes of thanks to the chairman and to Mr Perreau for use of the room, concluded the meeting.
