DORCAS SOCIETY.
A committee meeting of the Foxton Dorcas Society was held in the Plunket Office on Monday afternoon. Those present were Mesdames F. Robinson (President), Walton, Christie, Desmond, Moore, Miss A. M. T. Williams, Captain Stone, Rev. W. H. Walton and Mrs McMurray, secretary. Apologies for absence were received from Rev. and -Mrs Perymun, Mesdames A. Ross and Pearson.
Assistance was granted to several applicants. A ' sub-committee consisting of Captain Stone, Rev. Walton and the secretary were appointed to make enquires and deal with one case.
The secretary reported that the sub-committee appointed at the last meeting to renovate the maternity lending bag had completed the work and the contents of the* bag were now in good order. A donation of 4/- was received from.Mr J. K. Ilornblow. The President extended a welcome to Mrs Desmond, a new member of committee.
Accounts amounting to £5 10s 2d were passed for payment.
The ladies of the committee subsequently met at the Anglican Guild room ami went through the boxes of clothing. An appeal is made for donations of baby clothing which may be left at Mr. G. F. Smith’s shop, Main Street.
