(To The Editor)
. Sir, —I notice that in other towns there are slogans urging people “to buy in their home town and circulate the money locally.” It would he a good thing for Foxton if this idea were taken up by the shop-keepers and Chamber of Commerce. It seems to me, sir, a very unfair thing that Foxton money should be sent to other towns for goods which can be purchased cheaper in Foxton. One of the reasons why we do not progress as we should is because we spend thousands of pounds annually to build up the prosperity of other outside businesses. I would suggest, sir, that all the business people unite in a special boosting campaign for the spring and summer seasons with the slogan: “Be Loyal, Buy in Foxton and Help Your Home Town.” Yours etc., WELL-WISHER.
