HEMP MARKET.
HIGH COMMISSIONER’S REPORT.
The High Commissioner’s cable, dated 7th inst., reads Hemp, Manila market, firm with good demand, “3” grade August-Octobei shipments sold up to £43 10s; output Ist January to Ist August 761,000 bales against 697,000 for the same period last year. Sisal, demand is moderate, Tanganyika No. 1, afloat sold at £42 10s, No. 2.
New Zealand market has advanced in sympathy with Manila, liighpoints August-October £34, common £33, but demand is limited.
