YOUTH COMMITTED TO BORSTAL INSTITUTION. • Wellington, August 2. William Mitchell, aged 18, formerly at Weraroa, was sent to the Borstal Institute at Invercargill by Mr. Page, S.M., to-day for three years. He had been sleeping out at Petone. The police said he would not Avork and the probation officer said he Avould only be a menace at Weraroa.
Twenty-three designs have been submitted in connection with the Wellington Citizens’ War Memorial. They will be judged by Messrs. Gummer, professional adviser, Firth, chairman of the executive, and Fair, Solicitor-General.
