PRESBYTERIAN LADIES SOCIAL GUILD.

The fifteenth annual meeting of the P.L.S.G. was held on Thursday evening at the home of Mrs J. Ross, Tliynne Street. The report of the past year’s work, also the balance-sheet were read and adopted. Both proved very satisfactory, the sum of £29 being handed to the managers of the church.

Regret was expressed at the departure from Foxton of Mrs McDonald (president), Mesdames McLaren, Henley and Petrie, members of the Guild.

Mrs A. Ross was elected president pro tern., and Airs Perreau and Miss Duncan vice-presidents. Mrs .J. Ross and Airs Thomson were elected secretary and treasurer respectively. An enjoyable time was spent with music, games, etc., and supper was dispensed by the hostess and many willing helpers. Before dispersing, Airs AlcDonald, on' behalf of the Guild, asked Airs Petrie to accept a leather-bound edition of Shakespeare, as a small token of the respect and esteem in which she is held by all the members, and also wished her God-speed and every happiness in her new home. Airs Petrie briefly responded and all joined in singing “For She’s an Excellent Lady” and “Auld Lang Syne.”
