AGRICULTURAL COLLEGE.

PALMERSTpN NORTH SITE SELECTED. The Batchelor property, closely adjacent to Palmerston North, has been chosen as the site upon which the Agricultural College will be erected. In conveying this decision of the Government House of Representatives yesterday, the Minister of Agriculture (Hon. 0. J. Hawken), explained that the allround advantages offered by the Palmerston site were sufficient to outweigh the many good features of the other sites offered. An outline was given of the part the Government will play in the establishment of the University, the Minister’s concluding remarks being that a Bill to give effect to the decisions arrived at was in course, of preparation.
