FOXTON CARNIVAL NOTES.
Arrangements are being made by the Fibre Queen Committee to hold a euchre party in the temporary Town Hall on Tuesday, 13th inst. The Citizens’ Queen committee will hold dances in , the Masonic Hall on Saturday, 24th inst., and Saturday, 31st inst. The music- on each occasion will he supplied by I-lori George.
An evening was held at Mrs Perreau’s on Tuesday night for the Farmers’ Queen candidate, games, competitions, and musical items being indulged in. A very pleasant time was spent by those present. Songs were rendered by Mrs Yeo and" Miss Chalk. Miss Williams won the word-building competition, and Miss Chalk the picture. A dainty supper was provided by Mr. and Mrs Perreau, after which a hearty vote of thanks was accorded them on behalf of the Farmers’ candidate. Another evening on behalf of the Citizens’ Queen will be held on the 20th of July, at 8 o’clock. ' The cigarette competition drawn for at the Duffer’s Concert on behalf of the Sports’, Queen, was won by Mr. Keys, of Levin. An enjoyable afternoon was' spent in the Plunket room yesterday, for the Citizens Queen candidate, competitions, a baby show, and afternon tea being provided. The garden and musical competitions were both won by Miss Walker. A vote was taken on the babies by those present, the winner being Mrs Pahi’s baby, aged 4 months.
