DUFFERS’ CONCERT.
MASONIC HALL TO-MORROW NIGHT.
For the first time in the enlerla inmen f annals of Foxton a ‘‘Duffers’ Concert" is to be submitted to the public in the Masonic Hall to-morrow evening. It does not follow, however, that those taking part are really “duffers,” but the majority of them have not previously appeared before the footlights. The audience will get a few pleasant surprises and possibly much amusement from the varied programme which will include vocal and instrumental items and dancing. The latter will include clog dancing and a special Highland dance with bag-pipe accompaniment, a real Lauder sidesplitter. A judge has been appointed to award prizes for the best items the duller, —who we believe is to revive a cake. The entertainment is to be preceded by a torchlight procession headed by the band. The prices of admission are 2/- and 1/-. As the seating accommodation at the Masonic Hall is limited, those wishing to get a seat should attend early. Overture at 8 p.m. Here is portion of the programme: —National Anthem; overture, Pavlova’s Orchestra; opening remarks, by Rev. I. Stein; elocutionary item, Mile. Bertie; clog dance, D. Oldstubski; song, Gordon McGregor; do., East and West, recitation, Ike Dawson; Edison Record, Billy Williams; Highland Lament and Skirl (bagpipe accompaniment) by two Scottish vagrants and the dog; vocal outbreak, Mons. Dickcry Dock; instrumental solo, Count of Monte Christo; song, The Pearl King; song, the Cockney !\ oodbine; item, Bill Bully; duet, Rachel and A'hey; song, Mick the Cook; sentimental items by the Faithful (Imp'd; bass solo, Upson Downs, and selections and items by the Kiwi Choir.
