PLUNKET SOCIETY.
MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the local branch of the above was held yesterday afternoon, their being present Mesdames Pearson (in the chair), Trueman, Downes, Barr, A. Ross, and McMurray. Apologies were received from Mesdames E. Robinson, Walton, McDonald, Barron and Christie. The nurses report showed visits to Foxton 4, adults to office 40, children 45, new cases 3, letters 5. Mesdames A. Stevenson and R. Rnngihenea were unanimously elected to the committee. Mrs M. E. Perronu was elected an honorary member of the society. A donation of 10/- was received front Mrs A. S. Easton. The lion, secretary was authorised to obtain necessary notice cards. An account for printing, amounting to 12/-, was passed for payment. Mesdames Pearson, F. Proctor, and Austin-Johnston, were appointed conveners of groups, the members of groups being drawn as follows. Mrs Pearson: Mesdames Downes, Walton, Heasnian, Barr and Trueman; Mrs Procter: Mesdames McDonald, A. Ross, E. Rimmer, Christie and F. Robinson; Mrs Austin-Johnston: Mesdames Rangilieuea, A. Stevenson, Chrystall, Barron, Baker, and S. Austin. Mesdames Trueman and McMuria y were appointed visitors, and Mrs A. Ross llmver-steward for the month.
Proceeds from Mr L Corn’s weighing machine, 3/-, and room contributions 3/4.
A euchre tournament will be belli in the temporary Town Hall mi Thursday evening. >
