CORRESPONDENCE.
(To The Editor). Sir, —1 notice that a good deal of interest is being taken in the re-erection of the Town Hall and I feel sure, sir, that the ratepayers will back up the Borough Council and carry the loan by a big majority. An up-to-daitte Town Hall helps the town in more ways than some people seem to think. With, an up-to-date hall first-class amusement can be obtained in the town without having to go to Palmerston and Levin for something out of the ordinary. Talking about going outside the town reminds me, sir, that far too much money is spent outside of Foxton which should be circulated locally for the good of the town. Our shops may not be so large or carry such big stocks as in the larger centres, but the same class of goods can be obtained locally and at prices which defy outside competition. Why not the same patriotism in business as is being shown in the erection of a Town Hall? Our business people live among us and pay rates and help to keep the town going. How much do we get back from outside business people to help Foxton along Let us wake up and help our home town a. little more by shopping and trading in it. Yours etc. CITIZEN.
